Yom Teruah 2026 — The Feast of Trumpets & Noah’s Feast of the 7th Month

This is my first email to the Followers of Yahuah subscriber family, and I’m excited to begin with an important upcoming appointed time:

📯 Yom Teruah — Feast of Trumpets

September 9th, 2026
1st Day of the 7th Month

Yom Teruah is one of Yahuah’s appointed times — a Shabbathon, a memorial of blowing shofars, and a holy convocation.

“Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall ye have a Shabbathon, a memorial of blowing of shofars, a holy convocation.”

Wayiqra (Leviticus) 23:24 | את Cepher

On this appointed day:

📯 Blow the shofar as a memorial
🕊️ Keep the day as a Shabbathon
👥 Gather for a holy convocation
🙌 Rejoice and give thanks before Yahuah
❤️ Prepare our hearts for the Day of Atonement and Sukkot

Bemidbar also gives instructions concerning this day:

“And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.”

Bemidbar (Numbers) 29:1 | את Cepher

Noah’s Feast of the Seventh Month

There is another important connection to this day that I do not want us to overlook.

Yovheliym (Jubilees) 6:23 tells us that Noah also celebrated a feast on the first day of the seventh month.

So when we arrive at Yom Teruah on the first day of the seventh month, we are also arriving at a date that carries significance going all the way back to Noah.

A Quick Note About “New Moon”

If you open many English translations of Jubilees, you may see this date translated as the “new moon of the seventh month” rather than the first day of the seventh month.

This is an important translation issue that I cover in greater detail on the website.

The Hebrew terminology matters. Chodesh is used in connection with the month, while yareach is the Hebrew word specifically used for the moon. Understanding this distinction is an important part of understanding Yahuah’s calendar and why the phrase “new moon” should not automatically be understood as a command to follow the lunar cycle.

Yom Teruah is not simply another date on a calendar. It is an appointed time established by Yahuah for His people.

As we approach the seventh month, may we prepare ourselves to honor this day with remembrance, obedience, thanksgiving, rejoicing, and the blowing of the shofar before Yahuah.
