📯 YOM TERUAH — FEAST OF TRUMPETS 📯
September 9th, 2026 | 1st Day of the 7th Month

“Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall ye have a Shabbathon, a memorial of blowing of shofars, a holy convocation.”
— Wayiqra (Leviticus) 23:24

Yom Teruah is one of Yahuah’s appointed times — a memorial of blowing shofars, a Shabbathon, and a set-apart convocation unto Him. 📯

On this day we:

📯 Blow the shofar as a memorial
🕊️ Cease from servile work
👥 Gather for a holy convocation
🙌 Rejoice and give thanks before Yahuah
❤️ Prepare our hearts for the Day of Atonement and Sukkot

This is not a man-made holiday or tradition. It is an appointed time established by Yahuah and commanded to the children of Yashar’el.

“And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.”
— Bemidbar (Numbers) 29:1

📯 Let the sound of the shofar be heard.
📯 Remember Yahuah’s appointed times.
📯 Assemble. Rejoice. Prepare.

Yom Teruah — the first day of the seventh month.

And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, saying: In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Shabbath, a memorial of blowing of shofars, a holy assembly. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah. Vayiqra (Leviticus) 23:23-25 

No servile work should be noted. It is much different than the 7th day Shabbath commandment which says:

Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Shabbath of rest, a holy assembly; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Shabbath of Yahuah in all your dwellings. Vayiqra (Leviticus) 23:3

But the seventh day is the Shabbath of Yahuah Elohayka: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: Shemoth (Exodus) 20:10 

Just to clear up any confusion. The 4th commandment says nobody does any work period. However, this Feast Day says “no servile work.” Much different.

This Feast being kept in scripture example:

And Ezra the priest brought the Torah before the assembly both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the Cepher of the Torah. And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithyahu, and Shema, and Anayah, and Uriyahu, and Chilqiyahu, and Ma’aseyahu, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedayahu, and Miysha’el, and Malkiyahu, and Chashum, and Chashbaddanah, Zakaryahu, and Meshullam. And Ezra opened the cepher in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up: And Ezra blessed Yahuah, the great Elohiym. And all the people answered: Amein, Amein, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped Yahuah with their faces to the ground. (Nehemiah) 8:2-6
